Recently, Superb Internet added Parallel’s Small Business (SMB) Panel to their lineup of control panels offered. Small Business Panel, similar to cPanel and Parallel Plesk Panel, allows us to manage our dedicated servers easily. The Small Business Panel license is priced on a per user basis while providing unlimited domains and priced as follows with Superb’s dedicated servers:
– $18/mo – Parallels Small Business Panel – 1 User
– $25/mo – Parallels Small Business Panel – 5 Users
– $35/mo – Parallels Small Business Panel – Unlimited Users
Traditional control panels, such as Plesk and cPanel, have been designed to meet the needs of the hosting community and very technical oriented. The new Small Business Panel targets users who may not be as technical with a more intuitive interface design making primary functions of server management obvious. However, this does not mean that the Small Business Panel is limited in features. In fact, Parallels Small Business Panel includes their Sitebuilder AND Power Pack, which were popular add-on options for their Plesk Panel. Power Pack includes MS-SQL Server, Tomcat, and Coldfusion Support along with SpamAssassin Anti-spam software.

Superb Internet just introduced a price match guarantee for their dedicated servers. In short, if you find the price of a server cheaper elsewhere, Superb Internet will match it. As long as the server specification from a competitor “closely matches” a configuration from their website, Superb Hosting will match the price.
Talking with one of their account representatives, it seems the price match has to come from a comparable service provider. Prying for details on this seems to indicate that a comparable service provider is someone that owns their own data center as well as providing 24×7 technical support to customers. Superb is willing to match hardware configurations that offer comparable CPU, RAM, hard drives, among others. It seems like Superb Internet intentionally kept the details open-ended so they can approve at their own discretion. This offer may be YMMV, but it never hurts to ask.

Superb Internet now has the new Dual Xeon Westmere servers in their dedicated server lineup. This is the latest addition to their dedicated servers product line for high-performance computing. For those in the dark on this new CPU, the Xeon Westmere processor (5600s) is Intel’s new 32nm chip that boasts increased performance and power flexibility to succeed their Nehalem series (5500s). With this new CPU, the hexa-core dedicated servers are introduced in a much more affordable price point.

Superb Internet brought back their best deal, buy one dedicated server and get one server free. On their Buy One Get One Free (BOGO) page, they list the dedicated servers that are eligible to receive a free server. Looking at the list, it looks like all their dedicated servers, including their clearance servers, are eligible to receive a free server. The only condition is that the free server you select has to be equal or lesser value of the server you will pay for. It looks like every clearance server can be used for the free server.
