Superb Hosting Launches Westmere Servers!

Superb Internet now has the new Dual Xeon Westmere servers in their dedicated server lineup. This is the latest addition to their dedicated servers product line for high-performance computing. For those in the dark on this new CPU, the Xeon Westmere processor (5600s) is Intel’s new 32nm chip that boasts increased performance and power flexibility to succeed their Nehalem series (5500s). With this new CPU, the hexa-core dedicated servers are introduced in a much more affordable price point.
From their website, Superb Internet offers the following Westmere servers (note, not all Westmere processors have 6 cores):

Superb Internet brought back their best deal, buy one dedicated server and get one server free. On their Buy One Get One Free (BOGO) page, they list the dedicated servers that are eligible to receive a free server. Looking at the list, it looks like all their dedicated servers, including their clearance servers, are eligible to receive a free server. The only condition is that the free server you select has to be equal or lesser value of the server you will pay for. It looks like every clearance server can be used for the free server.

Superb Internet is now offering a complimentary Triple the RAM upgrade on their Nehalem dedicated servers. This means that instead of receiving 2GB of DDR3 RAM on the Dual Xeon E5504 or E5520 servers, you will get a whopping 6GB of DDR3 RAM. Unfortunately, we can’t combine this deal with their Double the RAM promo, but it looks like we can combine this deal with any other promo code available.
Nehalem servers have been very popular in the market because of its multi-threaded processing performance along with the utilization of DDR3 memory. The 6GB DDR3 RAM upgrade is a perfect compliment since this provides optimal memory configuration.

Superb Internet is offering 3 months of free hosting and FREE setup when you sign up for a year of hosting. Both shared hosting and dedicated servers are eligible for this offering. This is a great deal for their GridIron shared hosting plans. Their GridLite plans start at $8.99 per month but the monthly rate drops to $5.99 when you pay 1 year which also includes a free domain registration. The total for this plan would come to $71.88 for 15 months of hosting. You can use this promo for any of their dedicated servers, which include their single processor, dual processor, or clearance servers. To be honest, this promotion would require too much money upfront to make this deal worthwhile to me. For those that are not as cash-strapped as I am, this promotion is for you.
Superb Internet Adds Intel Xeon Nehalem Dedicated Servers

Superb Internet added additional Intel Xeon Nehalem configurations to their dedicated server line-up. Superb had Dual Xeon E5504 2.0 GHz and Dual Xeon E5520 2.26 GHz servers available for dedicated plans, but now they are stocking Dual Xeon X5550 2.66 GHz, Dual Xeon X5560 2.8 GHz, Dual Xeon X5570 2.93 GHz, and Dual Xeon W5580 3.2 GHz dedicated servers.
Each of these new rack-mount servers comes with 2GB DDR3 RAM (upgradeable to 24GB) and 1000GB SATA II Hard Drive (upgradeable to 6 hard drives). These servers are a bit out of my price range, but for the fatwallets out there, the Xeon Nehalem processors are as good as it gets.
According to PassMark CPU benchmark, the outrageously expensive Intel Xeon W5580 is 8th on their list of High End processors. To give you a better idea on price, the Intel Xeon W5580 costs $1680 per processor while the Intel Xeon E5520 costs just $358 per processor on Newegg. The Dual Xeon W5580 servers are said to be blindingly fast, but if I had the cash, I would rather just get another server. For details, click here>
